Defense Department creates helpful online hub for social media
Published July 24, 2010
The Department of Defense (DoD) has created the DoD Social Media Hub designed "to help the DoD community use social media and other internet-based capabilities to share responsibly and effectively, both in official and unofficial capacities."
Although intended for active duty service members, DoD civilians, and military and family members, the Hub contains a wealth of useful information for anyone using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or any of the other social networking sites. Simply click on "Education and Training" to get started.
Especially check out their How To Guides for many real-life examples of what to do and NOT do.
